married against his fathers wishes. Died drowned off the Skerries at the beginning of his father's long imprisonment in the Fleet. Thurles was an important Catholic and, when drowned, was being sent to England on charges of having garrisoned Kilkenny.
Thomas married Elizabeth Poyntz Viscountess Thurles [14692] [MRIN: 7030], daughter of Sir John Poyntz [14693] and Elizabeth Sydenham [14694], before 1610. (Elizabeth Poyntz Viscountess Thurles [14692] was born in 1588 in Iron Acton, Gloucestershire, England and died in May 1673 in Thurles.)
