John FitzThomas FitzGerald, 1st Earl of Kildare was the son of Thomas fitz Maurice.2 He married Blanche Roche, daughter of John Roche. He died on 12 September 1316.1
John FitzThomas FitzGerald, 1st Earl of Kildare succeeded to the title of 4th Baron of Offaly in 1287.3 He was created 1st Earl of Kildare [Ireland] on 14 May 1316.1
