Chram rose in rebellion against his father Clotaire, a king of the Franks, on several occasions. Following one of these rebellions, he fled to Brittany with his wife and children, pursued by his father. Upon catching them, Clotaire imprisoned Chram and his family in a cottage and set fire to it.
