"Beckoning Hills Revisited" a local history book of the Boissevain, Manitoba area lists an 'Illis Hill' as a landholder on a plot adjacent to several parcels ownedby Peter Hill in township #3 Range 20 west of the first meridian (page 20 of "Beckoning Hills Revisited")

per Douglas & Lillian BETTS 'Ellis' was actually named peter Ellis (aka Illus)...info re his family is provided by Douglas & Lillian...


Boissevain Community Archives has entry re 'Illus Hill'extract of statement by William Lattimer re application for homestead patent...says he met Illus in the spring of 1882 and that he noticed that the house was up in February of 1883...family consists of a wife and four children...Illus states that he was 29 at the time [1882 or 1883]
