per Janice Sutherland 1901 census lists him as 'Francis H O'...age 7...1906 census as 'Harkness' age 12
from the "Book Of Remembrance" Harkness HAZELWOOD (regimental Number 291910) was Killed in Action on September 2, 1918 while serving with the 46th South Saskatchewan Infantry Battalion, as a Private, in France. The battle on September 2nd was Drocourt-Queant Line, by Villers-las-Cagnicourt, France. He also served in the 222nd Battalion. [There is a picture of the 222nd Overseas Battalkion C.E.F. at Boissevain RR station 17Apr1916 leaving for France-p. 303, "Beckoning Hills Revisited"] He is buried in the Drury Mill British Cemetery in France.
The 46th South Saskatchewan Inf. Battalion served as Divisional Troops with the Fourth Canadian division, Tenth Canadian Infantry Brigade..."
