in Lincolnshire Pedigrees, referring to all the daughters, says "It is not certain whether these were the daus. of Sir William Skipwith by his 1st or by his 2nd wife". Burke's Extinct & Dormant identifies the children of William and Elizabeth as William, Lionel, John, George, Elizabeth, Anne, Bridget and Eleanor, while by Alice, his second wife, he "left an only child, Henry, ancestor of the Skipwiths of Penwould". Burke's Peerage and Baronetage, 105th Ed. identifies the only child of William and Elizabeth as William Skipwith, "ancestor of the Skipwiths of Newbold, Warwicks. and Metheringham, Lincs.", while by Alice he had Lionel, John, George, Henry, Elizabeth, Bridget, Anne, Margaret, Eleanor and Dorothy. The only agreement is that William was Elizabeth's son and Henry was Alice's son. Margaret and Dorothy appear only in the Peerage.
Alice married William of South Ormsby Skipwith [40022] [MRIN: 9435], son of John of Ormsby Skipwith High Sheriff of Lincolnshire [14567] and Catherine FitzWilliam [14568]. (William of South Ormsby Skipwith [40022] was born in 1488 and died on 7 Jul 1547.)
