eldest son, a young man of striking presence and splendid courage, who was knighted during the Scottish expedition in 1560. He married Frances, the daughter and heiress of Christopher Wymbush, Esquire, of Nocton in Lincolnshire, and widow of Sir Richard Towneley of Towneley. Alexander's marriage took place in 1555, but had no issue. By her first marriage, Frances had an only daughter, Mary, who married her cousin John Towneley, in which family her mother's inheritance descended.
Alexander married Frances Wymbush [58247] [MRIN: 551615742], daughter of Christopher of Nocton Wymbush Esq. [58248] and Unknown, in 1555.
