TANSEY, ROBERT LOUIS Grand Ledge

Age 76, was called to the first tee on God's golf course March 9, 2000.We know his drives wil l be long and straight and that he will make all his putts. Bob was born in Holland, Ml Jun e 3, 1923 and grew up in East Lansing. For the past 42 years he lived in Grand Ledge with hi s wife and family. Bob graduated from East Lansing High School class of 1941 and Michigan Sta te University. He earned All State Honors in golf whileattending East Lansing and his varsit y letter at MSU. He enjoyed golf throughout his life and his trophy room shows that he won ma ny local golf tournaments. He had been president of the Grand Ledge and Portland Country Club s, and recently became a lifetime member at Centennial Acres G.C. He was also a member of th e M.S.U. Varsity Club and was a very loya lSpartan fan. Go Green - Go White! .Bob was a veter an of World War If and the Korean Conflict, having served in the Navy. He retired from Oldsmo bile in 1981 after 33 years of service and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Bob als o enjoyed working along the sidelines at the Michigan State football games as well as umpirin g fastpitch soft- ball in the Lansing area. Bob will be loved and remembered by his wife of 5 1years, Barb; 4 children, daughters, Roberta Tansey of Jacksonville, FL, Sheila Tansey of Lan sing, Peg7 (Dan) McLeod of Eagle, son, Jon Marilyn)Tansey of Delta Twp.; 5 granddaughters, Da yle and Peri McLeod and Kimberley, Krystina and Kaytilyn Tansey: sister, Jean T. Porter; an d brother, Warren (Margaret) Tansey.

Robert married Barbara Josephine Johnson [21072] [MRIN: 10001], daughter of Clinton Henry Johnson [21067] and Ferne Marguerite Kinney [24971], on 12 Sep 1948 in Grand Ledge, MI. (Barbara Josephine Johnson [21072] was born on 9 Jul 1929 in Canton, OH.)
