Settled after the Revolutionary War in Sugarloaf Twp., Columbia co., PA. Served in the Revolutionary War in 1772 under Capt. Jacob Buss Co., 2nd Batt. Northampton Co. Militia (Penn's Archives Series 3, Vol. XXIV, pg 193). William and his four sons-in-law bought all the land from Coles Creek to North Mountain at $2 an acre.
