• Acceded: Marquis of Este, 1190. was the Marquis of Este (marchio Eystensis) from the death of his father, Azzo V, in 1190 until his death.

• Acceded: Marquis of Ancona and Count of Loreto, 20 Jan 1210. On 20 January 1210 he was created Marquis of Ancona and Count of Loreto by the Emperor Otto IV. On 10 May 1212 this was reaffirmed by Pope Innocent III.

Azzo married Alix (Alice) de Châtillon [64159] [MRIN: 551618861], daughter of Raynald of Châtillon Prince of Antioch [63507] and Stephanie of Milly Lady of Oultrejordain [9546].
