• Crowned: King of Germany, 1028, Cathedral of Aachen. On Easter Day 1028, after his father was crowned Holy Roman Emperor, Henry was elected and crowned King of Germany in the Cathedral of Aachen by Pilgrim, Archbishop of Cologne.

• Crowned: Holy Roman Emperor, 1046. Upon the death of his father on 4 June 1039, he became sole ruler of the kingdom and was crowned emperor by Pope Clement II in Rome (1046).

Henry married Gunhilda of Denmark [4838] [MRIN: 1141], daughter of Canute II The Great Sveynsson King of England [4836] and Emma of Normandy Queen of England [3780], on 10 Jun 1036 in Nimeguen, Germany. (Gunhilda of Denmark [4838] was born about 1020 and died on 18 Jul 1038 in Adriatic Coast.)

Henry next married Agnes of Poitou Holy Roman Empress [3942] [MRIN: 1744], daughter of William III-V the Great of Aquitaine Duke of Aquitaine [3936] and Agnes of Burgundy de Macon Princess of Lombardy [4592], on 21 Nov 1043.
