• No Name, 14 Dec 1856, Bolivar, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. 6083 letter David wrote to Jacob " Bolivar Dec the 14 A.D 1856 Respectfully Dear brother It is with great pleasure that I once more take up this presant opertunity to inform you that we are all well and do hope that these few lines may find you enjoying the same blessing I will inform you that I receoved your letter dated the 27 day of November on the 12 day of this month and was glad to hear that you were all well and felt glad to hear that you had such a good turn out of potatoes and turnips I should be glad if we had some of here for we could make use of them without any trouble I will inform you that I was out in Indiania this fall and have bought 80 acres of land for 1400 hundred dollars there is 28 acres cleared on it ther is a good hewed log barn on it and a good house and a well of good water 40 feet deep and a orchard of 40 apple trees that had 20 baskets on this last summer and 8 acres of wheat in the ground which I get along with the place the payments are as folows $1200 hundred down in the spring and the rest in one year wuth the interest at 6 per cent I think that if health will alow me to do so that I Shall be in my new home against the first of April I will further inform you that my land lays 21 miles south from fort wane and 4 miles north of Bluffton and one mile east of the plank Road I would say to you that I should be very glad to see you come and see me against next fall if you don't sooner when you come to see me you must come yo ft wane and then take the plank 23 miles then inquire for Jessie Bender then he can put you on the road to my house No more at the present but Still Remain your most affectionate brother until death David Maybee Answer this address an it will come to hand to Jacob Maybee and Margret Maybee
