• Religion: John Miller presented himself for membership on August 5, 1821, Bet 5 Aug 1821 and 24 Sep 1831, First Presbyterian Church, Mexico, Oswego County, New York. ⁷⁷⁹²
and was "united" with the church on August 12, 1821. (Vol. 1,
page 43). On February 27, 1830, the congregation met at the
house of John Miller in Parish for the first time. (Vol. 2, p.
73) Thereafter, they met frequently at the Miller home. On
February 26, 1831, John Miller was chosen as an Elder in the
Town of Parish. (Vol. 2, p. 91). On September 24, 1831, at the
house of John Miller, Margaret Miller [John's wife] and Maria
Heyser [Their future daughter-in-law], presented themselves and
were united the next day. (Vol. 2, p. 103)

• No Name, 24 Sep 1831, First Presbyterian Church, Mexico, Oswego County, New York. ⁷⁷⁹² John Miller was On September 24, 1831, at the house of John
Miller, David Maybee, [and others] presented themselves and
were united the next day(Vol. 2, p. 103). David was member 234.
While the First Presbyterian Church of Mexicoh was formed in
the Town of Mexico [hence its name] in 1810, it apparently
served a broad congregation, including the Town of Parish. In
1830, the congregation split, with the westernmost part of the
Town of Mexico forming a new church, and the minister, one
David R. Dixon, staying with the existing church, including the
members in the Town of Parish. Services seemed to alternate
between the two towns, with the services in Parish being held

John married Margaret Maybee [37035] [MRIN: 551605306], daughter of David Maybee [37047] and Gerdraut Freimauer [37046], on 22 Feb 1810.⁶⁵⁴ (Margaret Maybee [37035] was born between 23 Jan 1791 and 23 Jan 1792 in Canajoharie Castle, Montgomery County, New York,^9890,9891 died on 27 Nov 1870 ⁹⁸⁹² and was buried in Gates Cemetery ⁹⁸⁹².)
