a young married man in his 20's when his father died and he inherited the family estates. His mother, Eleanor, returned to her father's home at Sapperton. Eleanor was briefly married to Edward Rogers of Gloucestershire, but she retained her title. John Fettiplace died before he was 30, leaving a young widow and several young children. The eldest son, Edmund, later sold Appleton and Besslesleigh and split the monies among his family.
