Esq. of Wrottesley, Staffordshire. spells as Wratterley. Sheriff of Staffordshire, son and heir of Walter Wrottesley, Knt., by Jane, daughter and heiress of Hugh Barry, Esq., of Berkshire. He was born ABT 1457 (aged sixteen at his father's death), and seems to have been brought up until the age of twenty at the Priory of St. Mary of Mount Carmel, Coventry. They had nine sons and seven daughters (four sons died before the parents). Richard died testate between 12 Mar 1520/1 and 6 Dec 1521. Wrottesley Arms: Or, three piles Sable, a quarter erine.

Richard married Dorothy Sutton [45846] [MRIN: 551610832], daughter of Sir Edmund Sutton knight of Dudley Castle and Gatescombe [27856] and Maud (Matilda) Clifford [17771], in 1482 in Wrottesley, Staffordshire, England.
