She was the daughter of the Erchanger, a count of the family of the Ahalolfinger <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahalolfinger>.
she was accused by her husband and his courtiers of adultery with Liutward <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liutward>, his arch-chancellor. She successfully underwent the ordeal by fire, but entered a monastery, that of Andlau <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andlau>, which she had founded in 880 .
