1st Marquess of Ormonde The Marquisate was created in the Peerage of Ireland.
As he had no children, the Marquisate became extinct; the Earldom of Ormonde, however, devolved upon his brother James Wandesford Butler, who subsequently became first Marquess of Ormonde in the peerage of the United Kingdom.
Walter married Anna Maria Catherine Price-Clarke  [MRIN: 7020], daughter of Job Hart Price-Clarke  and Sarah Clarke , on 17 Mar 1805 in Exmouth, Devon. (Anna Maria Catherine Price-Clarke  was born in 1789 and died on 19 Dec 1817 in Belsize House, Hampstead, Middlesex.)
