In 1427 the Shipbrook estates passed to the Savage family. Dorothy, the great-granddaughter, and sole heiress of the 8th Baron, married Sir John Savage. The 'or, a fess azure', with the maid in crest, remained in the family of the Vernons of Haslington.

Dorothy married Sir John Savage Knight [18850] [MRIN: 9001], son of Sir John Savage Knight [46411] and Catherine Stanley [46410]. (Sir John Savage Knight [18850] died on 18 Oct 1492 in Boulogne and was buried in St. Michael's Church, Macclesfield, Cheshire, England.)
