Speculation: SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) Revolutionary War Graves Register has a John Whiteman listed as a private serving in the Revolutionary War for the state of New York. He died in 1778 and is buried in the Valley Forge area, Valley Forge, PA. Source #32843 RWGR-IZ.GED 18 Dec 1997. This would fit the age and area, so is very possible it is our John Whiteman. psg 7-27-2004
