General Notes:
John Maybee (MS#8) and Steve Mabie (MS#257) believe that this is the Jan Pieter Mebie who married Dorothy Pickert. Although there is no direct proof, it is probable that the illegitimate father of this child was either Jan himself, or Jan's son Pieter. The following entry was in the baptism's of RDC Schenectady: "10/9/1708, Jan Pieter , parents: no father named and Anna Peek; Witnesses: Capt. Johannes Glen, Lt. Philip Schuyler & Jacomyntje van Dyk. Jan had a son Lewis, who received land from his uncle Clement, who was also a child of Anna Peek
