Sergeant-at-Law in 1357 (31 Edward III), one of the Justices of the King's Bench in 1359 (33 Edward III), Lord Chief Justice <http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/Documents/lord_chief_justice.htm> in 1365 (39 Edward III), and Lord Chancellor <http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/Documents/Lords%20Chancellors.htm> of England in 1375 (49 Edward III). He was one of the Executors of the Will of King Edward III, dated 7 Oct 1376. The Inquisition Post Mortem at the time of John Knyvett's death showed him to have held a vast extent of property in Cambridge, Northampton, and other Counties.
