Headstone is that of the Civil War type markers that were given to the members of the Union Army. (See "Your Guide to Cemetery Research", by Sharon DeBartolo Carmack, published 2002, pages 103-104.) Stones are made of polished marble (or durable stone) four inches thick, ten inches wide, and twelve inches high above the ground, and the tops were slightly rounded.
