General Notes:
Samuel Whiteman's family attended the German Lutheran Church in Pennsylvania. They moved to Seneca County, Ohio in about 1817. Samuel was the owner of more than 800 acres of land. At his death the inventory of his estate was almost $5,000. Their activities in the affairs of their community are recorded in the Warner-Beers History of Seneca County, OH. He died at 66 years, 8 months, and 5 days. Samuel and his wife are buried in Albrecht Cemetery, near Republic, Seneca County, across from one of the early Whiteman farm.
Most of the data on Samuel is found in the Burdge genealogy in the library including his will. The reunion notes list an additional daughter, Jane, who is not in his will.
