  General Notes:

Like his grandfather, ascended to the crown at the age of five. It was run by
a regency until he came of age; and his uncle Sanc, Count of Provence,
managed the finances and paid off his father's debts. He later became known
for leading military campaigns that captured Majorca and the other Balearic
islands, as well as Valencia, from the Moors.

Jaime next married Yolande (Violante) of Hungary [11312] [MRIN: 3476], daughter of Andrew II of Hungary King of Hungary [11313] and Yolande of Courtenay Empress of the Latin Empire [11663], in 1235. (Yolande (Violante) of Hungary [11312] was born about 1216 and died in 1271.)
